CURCUBIT DOWNEY MILDEW HITS CATTARAUGUS COUNTY

Hello all,

A heads up that cucumber downy mildew is present in Cattaraugus County with first noticed symptoms around 7/14 or 7/15. CVP put out a notice in VegEdge 7/6 so most enrolled growers had a chance to take preventative action. Still, I believe that other growers (conventional and organic, though more likely organic) may have some level of downy present. I fully expect home gardeners to be experiencing downy mildew of cucumbers already.

Please pass along any suspicious cases coming into your Master Gardener offices. It will help CVP to track the disease spread and give growers some advanced warning.
