This is a wait list for Master Food Preserver Training. Cornell Cooperative Extension will be offering a 3-day Master Food Preserver training in the Spring of 2025. Dates not yet determined.

If you would like to go beyond the basics of home food preservation -- either for your own home use or to learn how to safely teach food preservation to others, this course is for you. Using the safest, most updated information available, participants will learn the science of food preservation including food safety; gain hands-on experience with boiling water bath canning, steam canning, pressure canning, jelled products and pickling, plus observe demonstrations on fermentation, freezing and drying foods. This 3-day intensive course includes a Master Food Preserver handbook.

For those interested in becoming a certified Master Food Preserver nightly study is suggested for the post-test. A score of 80 is required, as well as experience with all food preservation methods and teaching others, to obtain a Master Food Preserver certificate. No prior experience in food preservation is required.

The class size is limited. You will be contacted in advance of the general public for registration and confirmation of participation, please complete all contact and address fields on the registration form. You may not be contacted until dates have been determined or confirmed.

Class fee is $375.00 Due upon registration. Some scholarships may be available to wait list members.

Class will be held in Salamanca NY.

All meals will be provided during class hours.
